Goofing Off with Abraham-Hicks
Meeting Esther Hicks & reflecting on the mysteries of the writing process
The best is yet to come. And there’s nothing to lose.
Last weekend I went to see Esther Hicks (of Abraham-Hicks fame) in SF. It was just the kick I needed in a beautiful direction. Here are some Abraham-Hicks quotes that stuck with me from the event:
Focus on the Feeling
“Be happy before you have it and you’ll have it.”
“Focus on the feeling of it. Everything else will take care of itself.”
“You’re getting exactly how you feel.”
“What thought feels better? That simple.”
“Do the things that feel good! Love yourself enough to always do that first.”
“Be a little more selfish. Care about how you feel. Tend to that first.”
The Art of Allowing
“Let it in. Don’t lasso it in, don’t push it in. Let it in.”
“Timing is part of creation.”
“You can be, do, have anything that you define and calibrate to.”
Helpful Mindsets
“I’m happy where I am and eager for more!”
“When you give someone the benefit of the doubt, you receive the benefit.”
“I’m done justifying my existence. Now I’ll just goof off. Goof off guilt-free.”
“Use this phrase more often: ‘I don’t feel like it.’”
“It is coming. But you can’t be upset it isn’t here yet. Get interested in something that is here. Soften the blow of not being where you want to be—it’s all lined up. the vibrational reality is allowed in. Focus and lighten up.”
“Don’t get what-is-itis.”
“You don’t need this. You’ve got it.”
Source/Godforce/Your Inner Being
“Your inner being is always here for you.”
“Calibrate with Source, then live your life.”
“You don’t have to explain yourself. Your inner being knows who you are and knows you are worthy.”
“Do you understand how heard you are? How known you are?”
Questions to answer before doing something ☺
Is it interesting?
Is it fun?
Does it ring my bells?
Do I want to do it?
Do I want to do it with other people?
Do I want to tell people about it?
What Esther & Writers have in Common
I know Esther is communicating with the audience and her spirit guide, a collective entity named Abraham, and we all want to hear what Abraham has to say, but being there in person with her… I think I really fell in love with Esther!
Esther is a funny, silly (very silly!) woman who is essentially the translator between her spirit guide and the audience. She receives information and she shares it. Once Abraham steps in (non-physically, of course), Esther is nowhere to be found. None of her mannerisms or personality are there anymore.
I could relate a lot to her. Writing is just like being Esther Hicks. I mean 100%. You’re getting downloads and ideas and you’re following your nose. Eventually a more analytical version of you will step in—in the beginning during planning or at the end during revising (unless you want to lose your mind by editing as you write)—but for much of it, no writer can say they’re truly working alone. It’s just that mysterious. It’s a communion, a devotion.
With Abraham in the Vortex
Abraham demonstrates the kind of real love that is based on truth, that calls people out, that tells them the uncomfortable thing like, “You’re not making any sense right now” and wants to help them. Let’s just say the people in the hot seat were as fascinating as I could’ve imagined…And Abraham was pretty patient with them. For the most part.
During the day Esther/Abraham kept saying, “I’ll know it when I see it.” Meaning, if we practice the vibration of the things that make our hearts happy, then we’ll know it when we see it. We’re practicing what it feels like to know it, what it feels like to have that thing we want. To get that yes feeling, like when you write a really good sentence or scene.
There was a moment toward the end of the event when Abraham said, “Do you understand how heard you are? How known you are?”
And I completely lost it.
I cried and cried. I was a few rows from the front and behind the hot seat, so Esther/Abraham was looking straight at me. I felt so much love. I understood the missing piece of all manifestation/prayer work, which I’ll expand on next week.
It felt how I feel when I’m singing in worship, when I realize how loved I am and feel it. It’s not a concept like “God loves you.” It is connecting with God/my Higher Power.
I thought I’d walk out of there feeling frisky and free and eager. Instead I walked out knowing I am so tenderly seen and loved and that I get to treat myself like it.
The best is yet to come. And there’s nothing to lose.
Have you been to an Abraham event? Are you a secret super-YouTube-fan? Are you embarrassed to admit you’re totally into the law of attraction and all those related laws? I won’t tell.
☺
‘You don’t need it, you got it’ can be interpreted in sooo many ways. Like for example me trying to not buy anything this year, I don’t need it because I already got it, etc! 💗
