Maybe you need to remember who you are.
Not who you’re becoming.
Or who you wish you were.
Or who you failed to be.
You, now, as the perfect representation of you.
You have arrived. Savor that.
What percentage of your life will you sacrifice to striving?
Instead of savoring this moment, this miracle? And all the coincidences and effort and laughter and failure and success that brought you here.
Maybe you don’t need more.
Maybe you need less.
Fewer words, emails, time, texts, invites, bills for things you don’t really want.
Maybe you need absolutely nothing.
You already have everything. Play with this idea. How might this be true?
One of my favorite spiritual teachers, Byron Katie, says, “How do I know that I don't need what I want? I don't have it.”
What does that bring up for you?
Journey on. Or pause a moment, right here.
Your article is thought provoking.
That's the thing—the current state (moment) could not have been any different, based on the cause-and-effect relationships that preceded the current state. We instigate those relationships. The trick is managing cause and consequence in real time—the difference between receiving what we want versus what we asked for, or what we need. It's a function of our ego-bias framework. The presence of humility and gratitude will change the ask. ☮
